Project iLearn - I iLead iExplore iAccess iRelate iNavigate

Project iLearn was created to:
  • Provide tools to engage our students as they access and explore relevant information, and create projects as they work with their peers in teams.
  • Prepare students to be successful citizens, have the skills necessary to go directly to work after high school, or continue their education at a community college or university.
  • Bridge the gap between how students live and how they learn.
  • Provide tools for our teachers to use in their classrooms to enhance instruction.
  • Invest in the development of our teachers as they learn ways to better engage students.
  • Invest in education to strengthen economic development.
We must prepare students for their future, not our past.

Showing Off Technology
Check out what Mount Airy Middle School is doing with their latest technology!

A few days before leaving for Christmas break, I asked two 8th graders who are in the video club, to shoot a video.  My purpose was to showcase the wonderful technology and exciting classroom instruction currently happening at MAMS.  While doing walkthroughs, I particularly enjoyed several lessons by Mrs. Marion and Mrs. VanHoy so we decided to use those lessons as part of the video.  We also incorporated a few other segments of student presentations that were given in class.  The students were very eager and excited to work on the project and did a great job.  The video lasts approximately 10 minutes, was made by students using technology and portrays the use of technology in the classrooms.
